Commencement Health and Safety Protocols

All Attendees:

  • Wear a properly fitted face mask at all times in public spaces, including the Commencement venues and in any Institute vehicles. They may only be removed while eating and for photos.
  • If you feel sick, please do not attend Commencement Weekend. Contact either your doctor or the Student Health Center if you think you have COVID-19.
  • Observe social distancing guidelines in place during Commencement Weekend.

Graduates:

  • Sign the Commencement Community Health and Safety Agreement in the Student Health Portal.
  • Log your interactions, activities, and symptoms in DIAL daily ahead of Commencement.
  • Upload COVID-19 vaccination and booster documentation in DIAL.
  • Participate in Pre-Commencement COVID-19 testing.
  • Please avoid public settings that may increase the spread of the virus, particularly restaurants and bars, and be diligent about wearing your mask, especially indoors or in large gatherings. This is particularly important after you have received your on-campus COVID-19 test on May 18 or 19.

Guests:

  • Complete the health form prior to arrival.
  • Upon completion of the Commencement Weekend events, including the President’s Picnic, all attendees should return to their vehicles and depart campus.
  • Due to the rise in COVID-19 cases, we are asking guests to participate in testing before they arrive on campus. Ideally, this will be a PCR test done within 48 to 72 hours of the event. Alternatively, for those without access to PCR testing, a rapid/antigen/home test conducted as close to the event as possible (within 24 hours) is acceptable. Guests should bring proof of a negative test with them to campus.
    • Guests who have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 90 days, and are fully recovered, do not need to participate in COVID-19 testing prior to their arrival on campus. Those guests should bring documentation of their COVID-19 case, if available.
    • There will not be any COVID-19 testing of guests on campus prior to or at Commencement.
